Please consult your physician before taking any medication. Oral neomycin is used to help reduce symptoms of hepatic coma, a complication of liver disease. Also be used with another medication before any surgery affecting the bowel to help prevent infection during surgery. This medicine may be taken with a full stomach or empty. For patients taking this drug in oral liquid: Use a specially marked measuring spoon or other device to measure each dose accurately, since the common household spoon may not contain the correct amount of liquid. Keep taking this medicine for the full time of treatment. Do not miss any doses. SIDE EFFECTS Side effects should be reported to your doctor immediately Various - Any loss of hearing; clumsiness, diarrhea, dizziness, dream big decrease in frequency of urination or amount of urine, increase in the amount of gas, increased thirst, pale stools, sparkling and looking greasy, ringing or buzzing or a feeling of fullness in the ears, rash, difficulty breathing, instability, weakness Side effects that usually do not require medical attention
