In suspension, the drug is taken orally 4 times during the day at 250 mg (with a patient weighing over 40 kg). For children weighing up to 40 kg, the daily dose should not exceed 25 mg per 1 kg of the mass, divided into equal doses, taken every 4 hours. In severe cases of the course of the disease, the dose of the drug can double. Intramuscularly, the drug is administered to adult patients at 250-500 mg, at intervals of 6-8 hours. In severe forms of an infectious disease, a dose increase of up to 1-2 grams is allowed, 3-4 times a day. For children from infancy to 13 years of age, treatment with an injection petryxyl is 25-50 mg per 1 kg of body weight per day. The severe form of the disease allows you to increase the dosage to an indicator of 150-200 mg / kg, introducing the drug in equal parts every 6-8 hours.
The maximum concentration in the patient's blood reaches the drug after 1 hour after it was administered (with parenteral administration). It is not accumulated in the body.
